as long as you are buying to re-sell you will be fine.

if you buy from shops - you are already PAYING retail - how do you expect anyone to pay YOU more than you already paid? they can just go to the same places you went and paid what you did. stick to wholesale/bulk purchases

Absolutely legal, providing you pay all the required tax on your profits and follow any particular laws relating to the sale of the specific goods you buy.
But as has been said unless the product is geographically limited to your area making people more willing to pay for the privilege of being able to buy it without the journey, it is unlikely people will buy what they can buy elsewhere cheaper.
