Foreclosure on my credit report, but quick sale occurred?
ByAfter divorce, ex-husband moved back into house. He never made a house payment. I moved out of town. My name is only on the mortgage. (did a quick claim deed) with his. Foreclosure is on my credit report however quick sale occurred. How do I get this off of my credit report. I otherwise have good credit.

Try disputing it with the credit bureaus first. If that doesn’t work, send the lender a demand to validate debt and hopefully they will not respond and it can be removed then.

did your husband actually file the quit-claim deed with the county courthouse? if not, then it isn’t legal and the foreclosure is on you, not him. ck with the property assesor’s office and see if he did.

Quitclaims are okay but you must understand that he had to go and remortgage the loan to get your name off. If he did not do this and your name is still on the mortgage loan guess what??? you are still responsible.
