What’s the best way to estimate space needed for a new retail store?

I’m in the process of writing a business plan for a new retail store (gift/novelty/school supplies). How do I figure out how much space I will need? I don’t want to lease a space that’s too big for a startup, but I would like to have enough space to display things in an organized/unclutttered way.

Credit score required to lease a retail space?

I’m planning to lease a retail space for my business but i’m not sure whether im qualified or not. What are the criterias that lanlord will look at? Will they check my tax return? How important and how high my credit score should be to have a better chance at getting the lease. PS: I have never rent a house or apartment before, my credit score is about 710. Most of the retail space that i have looked are range from $3000 to $4500. I can afford up to $$8000 for initial deposit. My income tax return from the last couple years was low, about $10,000/year. What is my chance of getting the lease?

I’m trying to find out who to contact or where to contact about possibly leasing any available retail space in Downtown Disney (CA) - does anyone have a number or website they can direct me to? I know the spaces are full, but I would like to try to at least get on a waiting list.

I had a 2 year lease with an option to extend 5 years. When the 2 years was up, 2 years ago, they didn’t have me sign to extend, they just told me it was ‘ok’ and that they’d let me out of my lease if things went bad. Things went bad, and now they won’t let me out. So this question has 2 parts….
1. I didn’t sign to extend the lease, they said it wasn’t needed…. what’s the deal with that? Am i obligated for the next 3 years still?
2. If I AM obligated, and i default, can they put a lean or ‘take’ the house i own(well, the bank owns most of it…hehe)? Even if i declare bankruptcy?
