Of course the price of buying the existing business, but what other factors favor buying an existing business (w/lease, licenses etc.) and re-molding it, or favor starting from scratch (acquiring permits, lease etc.)?

What is the difference between Ask Min Rent and Ask Max Rent on a retail lease?

In looking for office space for lease, I’m seeing the Rent and Additional rent, which I know is the base and then the taxes/utilities/management fees etc… but on the Rent, I’m seeing “Asking Net Rent Min” and “Asking Net Rent Max”. Why the range?

I am wanting to start an internet company (in the UK). Obviously I will be looking to buy most of my stock wholesale, however I was wondering if it is legal to purchase from shops also and then sell on line? Is there an issue with brand names etc?

Trying to lease a small retail space and I have some questions?

OK, I’m doing my research to see if I can start my own little business. The biggest unknown area for me is the leasing of a small commercial space.
Can anyone point me to some resources on the web where I can find out what’s the average lease rate (per sq ft) for different metro areas? Is there such thing?
Also, I have heard about hiring an agent to help with finding a location and negotiating a contract. Is that worth doing? What is the cost range for hiring such agents?
I am looking at Northern California (specifically Pleasanton/Livermore/Dublin).
